I am Jessica

photographer, traveller, sustainability enthusiast

Photography has the immense power to convey emotions. To influence a person’s thoughts and actions.

That’s why I like to share inspiring stories through my photography.

Of brands and organizations that help make the world a better place. And of entrepreneurs that want to make a change.

In my work, I combine my studies in change management and fashion journalism to tell visuals stories that inspire action.

And now I get to travel the world and meet beautiful people – and plant a tree for every shoot I do!

Some facts about me? I live in The Hague, a seaside city in the Netherlands and can’t go too long without a cup of tea, good book or booking a new adventure.

My photography philosophy

warm, natural, timeless

Just like in my daily life, I value sustainability in my photography work. Because your photos should be timeless and beautiful moments to look back on for years and years. That all starts with preparation: what is the story you want to tell? From start to finish, I keep your core values in mind and translate this into imagery that invokes this feeling.

I love working outdoors with natural light. Playing with structure and composition to give a warm, natural look that makes the little adventurer in all of us jump with joy.

I’m based in the Hague, but I often shoot on location in the Netherlands and abroad.

I use a full-frame Canon R6 camera body and alternate between my Canon 24-70mm 2.8 zoom lens and Canon 50mm 1.8 prime lens. For commercial shoots, I tether on location and can hire additional equipment, such as specific lighting gear or lenses.

I have a BBA in Global Project & Change Management, but learned photography and photo editing during my minor Fashion Journalism at Solent University in the UK. After my studies, I specialized in lifestyle & commercial photography with additional courses at Ymke Myrte Photography, Sunfield Academy and Frankwatching.

I have worked as a content manager at sustainable shoe brand CANO for a year, where I supervised content creation and photoshoot planning. Then I became part of the content team of De Bijenkorf, where I worked as content specialist and assistant producer for photo & video productions for 1,5 years. Then I decided to quit my job and take the plunge to become freelance photographer in 2023!
